International Business Report (IBR) Q1-2012
Spanish executives are among the most stressed in the euro zone, second only to their counterparts in Greece. Data from the?Grant Thornton International Business Report (IBR), a quarterly survey of 3,000 businesses in 40 countries, has revealed that in Spain almost one in four business executives admits having suffered from extreme levels of stress during the last quarter of 2011.
At the global level, the stress ranking is dominated by emerging countries such as South Africa, Brazil, China, Peru and Thailand.
The main cause of anxiety for Spanish executives is the pressure to achieve business objectives, cited by 52 percent of the survey respondents. This is followed by internal conflicts, which affect 15 percent of the respondents. ?These two problems are also at the root of much of the stress felt by executives in the 39 countries featured in the study.
